Our chef school offers the following courses:

  • Food Preparation and Culinary Arts Diploma: This is a 2-year course that provides aspiring chefs with the foundation they need. Various disciplines are covered, including the preparation and production of high-quality food, culinary health and safety, and kitchen management skills. During this course, you will also gain valuable management knowledge that can be applied throughout the hospitality management industry. 
  • Patisserie Diploma: This is also a 2-year course. It was created for those who would like to specialise in pastry. Basic cooking methods, and more advanced baking and patisserie skills are taught to qualify you for a position in any professional kitchen. 
  • National Food Preparation and Cooking Certificate: The cooking of great food starts with adequate preparation. During this course, we will teach you everything you need to know about how to prepare, store, and cook certain types of food. The graduates of this certificate course may later attend a more advanced course or start work as a commis chef in the industry.
  • Occupational Certificate – Chef: This is the gold standard in culinary training and soon to be the only recognised qualification in South Africa. Accredited through QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations), this course will set any South African chef up for a career in the culinary world. Additional to the national certificate, an Advanced Diploma or Pastry Diploma can be included in the duration of the course (accredited by City & Guilds of London).
